3 Ways To Monetize Your Pinterest Account

1. Join the Creator Rewards Program

Pinterest launched the Creator Rewards Program to get more involved with creators. Pinterest also provides how-to guides and lessons on growing on Pinterest, getting seen by consumers & more. With this in your hands, Pinterest gives you a real opportunity as a creator to earn monetize your account. However, to be eligible you need to:

  • Use the Pinterest app on your mobile phone
  • Be 18 years or over
  • Be a legal resident of, and located in, the 50 United States or the District of Columbia
  • Have at least 250 followers
  • Have created at least three Idea Pins in the last 30 days
  • Have 150 saves of your published Pins in the last 30 days
  • Create original content

Once you join the program, you have rewards to complete each month. Each reward has different requirements in terms of type of content, length, features used, timing, etc. And each rewards also has a different compensation amount and a limit. The compensation amount varies based on how recently you joined the program, your reach, posting frequency and more. Below is a screenshot of what the creator rewards program looks like:

2. Sell Your Merchandise

This one is perfect if you have been wanting to start a small business or if you already own one! After creating a business account on Pinterest, you can start selling merchandise. You can link products from your own website onto Pinterest with “Rich Pins.” These showcase the availability of your products and how much your products cost at that present time.

Another useful tool for to sell your products includes Pinterest’s SEO tools. When posting a pin, make sure to include keywords in your pin description. These keywords should relate to the post and they will capture your target audience. Search engine optimization (SEO) only helps you get more clicks so use those hashtags, titles, and links to your products very wisely.

3. Sponsorships

Depending on your following and type of content, you can work with companies by promoting their products to your Pinterest audience or by creating content for them.
