Maintaining consistency on social media platforms can be a daunting task, but it’s a crucial part of building a strong online presence. We may or may not be exposing all of our secrets for staying consistent with social media posting, so you’re going to want to grab your favorite snack and sit down for this one.

Set realistic goals and stick to them

The first step to staying consistent on social media is to set realistic goals for yourself. If you have a full-time job and cannot post on Youtube 2-3 times per week, that’s okay. Showing up consistently is the most important part. This will take the pressure off of you in the sense that once you’ve planned out X amount of Instagram or Tik Tok posts for the week, you know that your work is done and you don’t have to compare yourself to anyone else’s posting schedule. You can solely focus on your schedule and run with that.

Batch everything

This is so important for efficiency! First, set a time for sitting down and brainstorming all your ideas. Then, go through and decide what you’re going to film. Film as much as you can in one day and then decide when you are going to post each one and upload them to a scheduling app such as Later or Planoly. Next, you write your captions and hashtags in there as well, and then they’re ready to go for the next week or month.

Repurpose your content for multiple platforms

Work smarter, not harder with your social media posting. Use your short-form content for Instagram reels, Pinterest Ideas, Youtube shorts, and Tik Tok. If you have a blog, you can also base your content that you’re going to post on other social media platforms on that. Make sure to repurpose all of your content. You will create it either way, so why not make sure it reaches as many people as it can.

Create a series

Creating a series or theme of what you’re going to post for that week, or a series of posts over the next month or so, will help you to generate more ideas instead of trying to come up with unrelated posts, one at at a time. This will also keep your audience engaged and wanting to know what is going to come next from you.

It’s not always quality over quantity

Not all of your content will be 100% perfect, and I know that’s something that’s hard to accept. Think of all your favorite content creators and look at their content when they were first starting out. Do you think being perfect all the time is what got them to where they are today? Of course not! Everyone starts somewhere and the only way your content will get better is with lots of practice and consistency.

Unfortunately, you can only learn so much by watching Youtube videos and reading blogs about how to get better at your content. So much growth comes from actually doing the thing, figuring it out for yourself, and seeing what works for you. Literally who cares what Karen from your hometown is saying about your posts anyways.

Don’t be afraid to take a break

Consistency is key to building a strong social media presence, but it’s important to give yourself breaks when you need it so that you don’t give up on it all together! It’S a MaRaThOn NoT a SpRiNt. I know, cliche, but it’s also something I have to remind myself every now and then too. So here’s your friendly reminder. Everyone deserve to give themselves a mental break, and I promise you all of your favorite content creators have done this at some point too. Social media will be here when you get back. Good luck, and you got this.
