Madelaine is a full-time college student and content creator. Her strongest platform is YouTube where she shares daily vlogs and fashion videos. In this interview, she shares her journey and tips about creating and growing on YouTube. You can find her on Instagram as @madelainemayfield.

When did you start creating content and how did you get started?

I started creating content when I was 18 years old in High School. It gave me something to do in my free time and I genuinely loved creating videos and taking photos.

How do you come up with ideas for your YouTube channel?

I think of videos I would want to see on YouTube. I vlog exciting things that happen in my life, I try to tell my story through YouTube videos. I pretend as if I am talking to my friends and family, catching them up on my life.

How have you been able to use Klaia as a content creator?

Klaia helps me keep my brand deals in one place. I use to write everything (deadlines, payments, and guidelines) down and have to update my lists constantly. I love all the features Klaia has to offer.

How long does it take you to film, edit and upload a YouTube video?

It takes me a day to film my video and depending on how busy I am that week with school and work, I try to get my video edited and uploaded to YouTube within the same week.

When were you able to monetize your YouTube channel?

I was able to monetise my YouTube channel about 2 years after I started. I have been monetized for 2-3 years now. It’s a great way for creators to earn money for all the time they’ve spent working on videos. I hope to one day turn YouTube/Content Creation into my full time job.

What have been the most challenging and rewarding aspects of being an influencer?

Finding time while being a full time student in college and  having two jobs, it’s really hard to spend all your time on content. But it’s something I love, so I continue creating.

Are you a student? If so, how do you balance school and content creation?

Yes, I am full time college student. I am a senior at Rowan University, and it’s been really hard to balance, but I like to take the weekends for content.

What advice would you give to someone starting to pursue content creation?

Be creative, don’t do what everyone else is doing. Find a way to stick out and create a connection with your audience.
