As a content creator, there’s brands you would die to work with. However, it can be challenging to land a partnership with them. And a lot of those brands can be hard to get in touch with… In this post, we’re going to show how to find brand contacts using LinkedIn. This is a step-by-step guide to getting in contact with that brand directly.

Step 1: Get on LinkedIn

Go on LinkedIn and search the brand you would like to work with. We are going to use Skims as an example for this article.

The section that we care about is “People”. Because we want to find someone who is in charge of or works in the influencer marketing or public relations department.

Step 2: Look up keywords

The next thing you’ll do is type in certain keywords. The keywords you really want to use should be along the lines of Influencer relations, social media, PR manager, and any other words along the lines of these.

Here, we typed in influencer and got 12 results. What you’ll want to do next is visiting each profile and trying to figure out who could be in charge of sourcing creators. Do not worry if you don’t get this right, as you could be referred to the right person anyways.

Step 3: Get their email

So, we have found the person we want to reach out to. But how do you get in contact with them? You could try messaging them directly on LinkedIn. But a better way is to find their work email.

Once you find a person from LinkedIn that works with your preferred brand, you’ll want to use a website like Rocketreach or Lusha to find that person’s exact email address. Both of these websites have a free version – there’s a limit on how many searches you can do each month. However, their subscriptions plans are between $20 and $50. Hopefully, the website you use will pull up their email and from here is when you can finally write out your pitch.

Step 4: Pitch yourself

This is the final step. The best way to format your emails should start with an introduction to who you are. After, you’ll want to mention what you do on social media and talk about why you like their products or their brand and things of that nature. Make them see that your content and what you create will make sense for their brand. Also, make sure you attach your media kit or portfolio.
